Pad Printing
is a process that utilises a rubber pad to transfer an image from a plate onto the substrate. Due to the flexible nature of the rubber pad we cantransfer onto irregular shaped surfaces. We have a range of pad printing machinery consisting of a four colour, 2 x two colour and a single colour machine. We have the ability where required to run the same job on multiple presses to meet tight deadlines. We make all our own plates in house so if there is a problem we fix it there and then
without having to wait for new plates from outside suppliers. We use only quality Print Colour Inks for our pad printing however we have also developed some of our own specialty inks. We do not just limit ourselves to promotional products, we also service the needs of manufacturers of cosmetics, electronic components, machine parts and just about anything that needs to have an image on it.
Placing an Order
As you could imagine there are thousands of items out there that could have an image placed on them. To avoid delays in the processing of your orders we require all the details relevant to the job you would like us to print. Most important is the item name, item colour, code number, supplier, supplier web site. A pad printing order form can be found at the bottom of the page and if you could print out, fill out the relevant information and fax the order to us, your job will be processed much faster than if we have to hunt around for information to allow us to create a proof.
Proofs
Once art is received, a proof will be emailed back to you indicating the item (where possible), print position, colours and quantity to be printed. Proofs should be THORUOGHLY CHECKED for position, colour breakup and text and spelling errors and omissions. Once you have signed your proof you are accepting liability for any errors that may exist within the artwork. If you are happy with the proof, please print out the page and return via fax to 3390 2333. Urgent return of proofs is essential
to avoid delays in your items being printed.
Packing and Handling
Due to the nature of our business we are required to put images on to a huge variety of different items. Some of these items require unpacking before printing and some items due to the nature of the material they are made from require special treatment prior to printing. Due to the sometimes excessive time that is required not only to unpack items but to then repack in the original packaging we are forced to pass on packing and treatment charges.
Unpacking & Repacking
Standard Unpacking charge
(item in a bag in a box) $0.03 per layer
Standard Repacking Charge
(item back in bag & then in box) $0.05 per item
Additional Packing Charges of $0.03 per item will apply for each extra process required in the repacking of items. Eg: item in a bag, in a leather pouch, inside a bubble wrap bag inside a box would attract an additional $0.05 per item repacking charge).
Pre-Print Treatment
The chemical resistance of some plastics especially polypropylene require us to either heat or chemical treat prior to printing. Upon receipt of customer stock we will perform some initial tests to ensure that there will be no adhesion problems. Many of the items we print on may look the same as a past job however when we come to print on them the manufacturer has changed the type of plastic to one that may not accept printing ink. This is a constant frustration not only for ourselves but for you our client when you lose the ability to pass on additional costs due to material changes. We will always advise you before we proceed with chemical treatment to give you the option to return stock to your supplier if it is not to specification of what you have ordered.
Chemical or Heat Treatment $0.07 per item
